You go through the gate then be careful as road is very narrow, there are multiple car parks to park at some only being 3 cars that can fit but the main car park is at the base of Mt Taranaki. The track is down lots of steps from the start of the walkway steep in some places. There are two viewpoints one at the base and one at a higher point

So beautiful! It was bucketing with rain, so we braced ourselves for wet feet, the stairs/rock steps are quite high in places (especially for my short legs) and held a lot of water BUT overall quick walk for able walkers. Made my waterfall loving heart so happy. Can’t wait to do the full walk next time we’re there.

Nice spot to stop, lovely forest canopy walks. A bit of a steep climb down to the falls, but worth it to be misted by the power of the waterfall.

Very nice walk to spectacular falls. The track is quiet rough in places, study boots and reasonable fitness required.

The walk down to the falls was quite challenging, if you are confident on your feet give it a go, otherwise just heard to the viewing point. The base of the falls is well worth it if you can manage it
